Are people noticing and using the accesskeys on the buttons in the forums? I’ve bolded the letters on the buttons that you can activate from the keyboard, but I’m not sure users will recognize them - especially ctrl-> and ctrl-< for “Next” and “Previous”, which are really useful but 1. hard to tell they’re bolded and 2. hard to realize that you have to ctrl-shift-. and ctrl-shift-, to type them. The Windows standard is to underline the accesskey letter, but that would just look confusingly like greater-than and less-than…

Happen to be reading this. I only notice the bolded “R” in “Reply” but nothing else. Secondly, I tried “Ctrl-R” after reading this post in order to reply but it didn’t work. Using Netscape 7.x.

Accesskeys are a nice feature but the bolded letters provide insufficient contrast with the background color of the buttons. Also, using something other than underlining for accesskeys strikes me as too much of a leap for something which is so much a standard.
For the “Next” and “Previous” buttons you could use letters as access keys but the left and right angles as “keyboard shortcuts,” though this may create a conflict in some browsers.
Also, this feature appears not to work in Firefox at all, font weights and text decorations aside.
