AEGIS SOFTWARE ENHANCES TEST SUPPORT FOR NYSE TRADING

NEW YORK, July 29, 2003— Today Aegis Software Inc., New York-based provider of trading software, announced the release of Exchange Simulator 3.3, an automated test environment which allows developers, QA engineers and production support departments to verify their internal order management system against simulations of popular FIX and CMS-based exchanges and ECNs.

The new version of Exchange Simulator includes the capability to test many advanced NYSE trading features, such as: Broker Booth Support System (BBSS); Institutional XPress orders; Convert and Parity (CAP-DI) orders; and FIX 4.2 support, as customized for NYSE trading. The software also includes simulations of other popular ECNs such as Archipelago, Island and Instinet. Future versions of the product will support testing of the protocols used by Nasdaq’s SuperMontage(SM) and ACT reporting. Guzman & Company, a Miami-based member of the New York Stock Exchange, is a recent licensee of the software.

“The need for rapid, reliable customization of the GTS (Guzman Trading System) platform dictates the use of the world class test suite that Aegis offers," said Leo Guzman, CTO, Guzman & Company. "We are very excited to be working with Aegis and at the opportunities these new tools will make available. Their team did an excellent job working with us to ensure a smooth install and a seamless integration with GTS.”

“Our customers use the Exchange Simulator for three vital areas: FIX and CMS compatibility testing, functional testing and performance testing,” said Norm Friedman, Vice President, Aegis Software. “They realize the enormous value proposition of having their own (virtual) exchange as a trading counterparty. We also offer an ASP version of the Exchange Simulator for mid-tier customers whose usage may not necessitate an on-site install.”
