I think most of the questions you’re asking can be best answered by one of the many research tools on the net as, like this one, they are not very FIX specific
Probably referring to trades initiated by algorithms. These are automated trades that generally require some parameters from the trader(when to start, price targets…) and then once initiated they function almost like an AI system. Orders can be initiated, modified and canceled all without user intervention. Algos can be very simple or extremely complex.
