The application support group at Portware, LLC is responsible for supporting the entire portfolio of technologies that make up the Portware Trade Management Platform.

  • Candidates with experience in equity trading and knowledge of OMS trading systems and FIX Protocol will be given first consideration.

  • Candidate would provide technical support to our clients, and certification of client connections (FIX) and front end functionality.

  • Position requires strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in handling first level support issues (networks, hardware, software) is absolutely essential.

  • Knowledge of multiple operating systems such as Windows 2000/XP/2003, Debian, and Solaris is important.

  • Knowledge of Citrix MetaFrameXP, Microsoft Terminal Server technologies, and network load balancing a distinct advantage.

  • Basic knowledge of Oracle a plus.

  • Scripting experience (perl, DOS, Ant, UNIX shells) a definitive plus.

  • Responsible for the management of production problems, ensuring effective and timely resolution. If you have worked on a trading floor before, you can understand the urgency that is involved.

  • Responsible for working with the Portware development teams to ensure releases are smooth, error-free, and easily rolled-back.

  • Candidate must have substantial knowledge of network administration; detailed understanding of FIX Protocol (4.0-4.4 preferably) for minimum of 2 years.

  • Demonstrated talent for multitasking effectively.

  • Must possess exceptional communication skills, an eye for detail, a problem solving perspective, and a customer-centric perspective.
