The Client Interface Application team at Nasdaq is seeking an experienced Analyst/Programmer Sr. Specialist who is innovative and delivery focused, to play a key role in the design and delivery of the message delivery components of NASDAQ’s product offerings. These products deliver real-time transactions between NASDAQ’s trading system and electronic customers. The Analyst/Programmer Sr. Specialist will be responsible for developing components in NASDAQ’s Financial Information Exchange (FIX) engine environment, and will include both server-side and workstation programming.
The Analyst/Programmer Sr. Specialist will be responsible for developing detail functional specifications, and develop the proper technical architecture to support the specifications. This position will also be responsible for development, and unit, and integration testing of the product. The work will be organized in a series of projects that will require full life cycle support.
Responsibilities:
·Design Phase
-Develop detail design document working with the business analyst. Construction of screen designs.
·Construction Phase
-Development of code. Unit testing
·Integration Test Phase
-Develop integration test cases
·Quality Assurance
-Turn over product to Quality Assurance. Proactively manage issues / problems relating to the tests.
·User Acceptance Testing
-Participation and support of end customer user acceptance tests.
Technical Skills / Experience:
·6 years Java programming experience (Required)
·Python / Jython scripting language experience (preferred)
·Windows 2000 operating system, MS SQL server experience preferred
·JBOSS application server experience preferred
·Financial Information Exchange (FIX) protocol development experience (required)
·2 Years Java windows interface / (Swing / AWT Classes) programming experience (Required)
·Java Messaging Service (JMS) experience
·Multi-threaded application development experience
·Strong analytical skills
·University degree in Computer Science desired
·Proficient verbal communication skills
·Ability to work effectively with clients, systems management employees and staff
