The Active Equity IT team supports GSAMs Active Equity business in NY and Tampa. The team will be made up of 4 people who will primarily support the equity trading desk (the desk uses a vendor trading package) as well as portfolio management and research teams.
Role Summary
We are looking to fill a role to provide support and development around our equity trading and commissions systems. Consultant candidates should be have more than 5 years of relevant experience in supporting vendor systems and perform testing, software upgrade, reporting, and other various tasks. Role may extend to supporting and developing in-house intranet and batch reporting suite. Individual must be able to work independently.
Candidate Profile
o 5 years of work experience
o Good knowledge of SQL, Perl, VBScript, XML, and Unix shell scripting. Basic knowledge of Java / JSP & HTML preferred. Experience with XSL-FO desirable but not required
o Strong analytical skills, ownership, and communications skills. Must be able to communicate comfortably with buy side traders and trade assistants.
o Familiar with Order Management Systems such as Macgregor’s XIP/MFTP platform or competing vendors (LineData’s LVTS, Charles River, LatentZero) desirable but not required.
o Familiar with EzeCastle (formerly owned by BNY Brokerage) Commissions Optimizer software desirable but not required.
o Familiar with ITG-TCA product desirable but not required.
Probable Daily Activities of New Consultant:
Field day-to-day support calls from the trading desk. Coordinate follow-up on a wide array of production problems (some requiring urgent turnaround)
Support the overnight batch process and daily distribution of reports to users in NY, Tampa, and London
Participate in major and minor updates to our trading applications including development of upgrade scripts, regression testing, and coordination with users
General on-going analysis of issues affecting GSAM’s Active Equities business
General coordination with users (primarily trading and operations) on a wide variety of issues
