Investment bank in midtown Manhattan seeks an Application Support professional to join their Program Trading Support team. This team provides 1st/2nd line end-to-end application support for the North America Program Trading business.
You will face off to the front and middle office within the Equities business. Support an integrated platform of applications consisting of trading, allocations, settlements and risk management systems.
You will be tasked with anticipating and/or quickly diagnosing and solving problems to meet changing business needs.
Knowledge of the Equities business is desirable although training will be given to the right person. You will act as the technology face to the business and will be expected to provide input into re-engineering the business process as necessary.
Responsibilities also include ensuring effective and timely resolution to production problems for the Equities Program Trading business and becoming involved with upcoming releases of key trading and risk applications, including training, documentation, and rollout. You may also write queries, scripts, and test software fixes/new functionality.
Requirements:
You should be familiar with Program Trading and OTC Trading vendors and flows-- Brass, Lava, ECN’s.
Technical skills: Unix (Solaris), RDBMS (intermediate level: Oracle or Sybase), shell-scripting.
You must have excellent communication skills, ability to work well in high-pressure situations, negotiation/influencing skills.
Experience with Java/C++, Fix Protocol, Perl, and exposure to Equities Derivatives are all desired.
