A major NYC area investment bank is looking for an application support specialist in their derivatives operations group. Ideally, the right candidate should have strong unix and sql skills with some derivatives trading system experience. However, any sort of trading system experience would be ok, but MUST have the unix and sql skills.
BA/BS or equivalent required, prefer degree in Computer Science or IT related field.
Experience in supporting critical and time sensitive applications.
Strong knowledge of front to back trade flow/Operations processes desirable.
Strong knowledge of Unix (Solaris, Linux,), RDBMS (Oracle and/or Sybase).
Experience with scripting languages (csh, Perl) desirable.
Experience of supporting client server based application.
Experience in troubleshooting and escalating technical problems to the
appropriate infrastructure team.
Understanding of Derivatives Trading in Investment Banking environment
desirable.
Good time management and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal communication and problem solving capability.
Minimum of 2 - 5 years experience working in a support environment.
Self-driven, motivated, goal oriented and able to take full responsibility
