The Application Development Supervisor supervises the associates responsible for the support/enhancement and/or design/development of our business applications. Responsibilities include monitoring projects and providing the necessary support to team members to ensure that the system meets the needs and quality requirements of business clients.
Hiring Criteria - Demonstrated ability to lead teams by providing coaching, guidance, encouragement and overall support
- Thorough knowledge of project management, which includes the ability to define and delegate roles and tasks
- Thorough knowledge of application development methodology and system design
- Thorough knowledge of mainframe, mini and personal computers
- Working knowledge of systems development life cycle and a general understanding of various development methodologies and how/when to apply them
- General knowledge of systems (e.g. various programming languages, database management, system architectures, relational data base theory, structured design approaches, etc.)
- Good judgment in identifying issues and recommending solutions to others
- Specific domain expertise (equities trading, single and program orders, FIX technology and trends)
