Assimilate Updates Open Source FIX Engine For .NET

Imported from previous forum

Hi All,

I’m pleased to announce that the latest revision of VersaFix, our open-source FIX engine for the .NET platform is now available. This latest release incorporates an improved configuration model, better performance, and improved support for FIX 5.0.

This latest release marks the start of a transition for the project. We are now able to focus some more time and effort on developing a truly production-grade engine, so although this latest release is still a bit sparse, the development effort is now going 100% and we should have a lot of good stuff coming out in the next couple of weeks.

If you’re doing .NET development using FIX, I hope you’ll get a chance to download the code, play around with it, and see if it’s useful to you. If you used an older version of the engine, you may notice that we’ve removed the FIX tools from this release - that’s not because we’re not going to be distributing them, but rather because we’re getting ready to release some much better tools when we do the next update in a couple of weeks.

You can pull the complete source code for the system directly from our source control server by pointing any SVN (subversion) client to the following repository:

svn://assimilate.com/VfxEngine/Trunk

There’s a product page for VersaFix as well, at:

http://www.assimilate.com/index.php/content/vfx.products.html

We’re still working on the documentation, so give us a couple of days to get everything up on the site, but otherwise the code is greatly improved from the previous releases and is ready to go.

Thanks,

Russ
