B2BITS is pleased to announce the latest version of its FIXEdge server, a total connectivity solution whereby all interfaces to markets and clearing organizations are fully integrated.

The FIXEdge 4.0 version includes the following new components:

- pluggable Order State Machine

  • FAST protocol adapter
  • extended scripting language to support Business rules
  • generic message history archive
  • multiple enhancements related to operating efficiency
  • new exchange adaptors
  • extended reporting system including SMTP support
  • extended real-time measurement statistics (throughput, latency) including charts

Pluggable Order State Machine allows using FIXEdge as a full featured OMS with a rich user interface. This enables it to be used as an all in one solution - FIX server plus OMS.

It can also be used as a staging area with persistent storage for orders to be sent to a destination with independent orders state control. Orders are stored in a relational database allowing for the state of the orders to be observed.

FIXEdge is based on the FIXAntenna C++ engine, which is known as one of the fastest if not the fastest FIX solution on market. Implementation of the FAST protocol will allow clients to use our server for processing market data more efficiently. We have also seen interest in using FAST compression for order and trade transactions.

New message history archive allows creation of multiple archives defining specific attributes of the messages to be captured. Message History instructions are implemented on the business layer of the server and integrated in the extended scripting rules language. This creates an extremely flexible mechanism for selecting and distributing messages to multiple databases.

The new version permits existing and new customers to significantly improve performance of the number of messages processed per second and to reduce latency in delivering messages.
