NEW YORK, Aug. 10 – Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (TSX: TOC, NYSE: TOC) and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the worldwide financial community, and Beauchamp Financial Technology Limited (BFT), a leading
designer of trading and portfolio management software for hedge funds, today announced that Beauchamp’s OrderManager electronic trading module has been enabled and certified for an out-of-the-box connection to the Thomson Order Routing network. Beauchamp OrderManager users will now have automatic access to Thomson Financial’s network of over 250 global brokers.
Beauchamp OrderManager enables fund managers and traders to electronically manage the order process, from inception through to execution and allocation. OrderManager makes use of FIX technology to send and receive electronic messages via the Thomson AutEx Order Routing network to and from executing brokers, ECNs and other pools of liquidity. OrderManager’s full integration with the Beauchamp FundManager portfolio management system means that electronic trades are automatically booked to the database and are immediately reflected in portfolio and P&L reports. FundManager then automatically reconciles trade files with prime brokers and administrators, delivering
straight through processing from the front office to the back office.
Thomson AutEx Order Routing is one of a suite of Thomson products used by trading partners to identify market liquidity and place orders. Thomson AutEx facilitates the high-speed transfer of multiple 100% FIX compliant message types over a concentrated global network. The AutEx Network is based on a hub and spoke model, allowing clients within our global community to communicate with multiple trading partners. Thomson AutEx is a dedicated, standard protocol network for the transfer and delivery of financial services, including equity and fixed income-based, through a single connection. The advanced technology and robust nature of the Thomson AutEx Network allows us
to deliver our financial services over a number of connections and interfaces, giving AutEx clients several options for meeting their ongoing business requirements.
Clare Flynn, President of Beauchamp Financial Technology comments: “The new connectivity between OrderManager and Thomson Financial’s Order Routing network means Beauchamp clients will have an even greater choice of network providers, brokers, and trading venues. The fact that executions and allocations are booked straight through to the Beauchamp portfolio database removes significant scope for human error and makes our clients’ trading operations that much more efficient.”
“Thomson AutEx provides connectivity and liquidity across the global
trading community, giving brokers and institutions access to a breadth of execution venues and advanced execution algorithms over an existing
connection,” said Robert Moitoso, senior vice president and head of AutEx, Thomson Financial. “We are very excited about this relationship with Beauchamp and their clients.”
