Bug Reports

Imported from previous forum

I have emailed several bugs to Terri Lyons and fpl@fixprotocol.org.

This website appears to have had very little UAT.

Please report any functional errors in this thread. As much explicit detail as possible please, so that we can replicate your issue. If you need to attach files or bookmark page URLs, etc you can use the corresponding facilities within the discussion and reference them in the text.

The link to FIXadtl Specs, Documentation indicate that URL is not found.
Where can I find these documents?

Hot topic "High Performance Trading" (http://www.fixtradingcommunity.org/pg/hot-topics?HotTopicName=High%20Performance%20Trading) has an entry "Documentation" at the bottom which does not lead to the actual docs, only to the discussion links (on an ill-formatted page, http://www.fixtradingcommunity.org/pg/documentlibrary/38060/encoding-specifications/). It looks like the HP Specs page on the old site (which starts with links to the spec discussions) but most of it is missing, especially the links to the actual docs. The last link says "Back to..." and just goes to the same page again.

Entry "Documentation" also provides two links on the same line, only "(Visit resources)" goes to the one described above. The first one goes to a bokmarked item (http://www.fixtradingcommunity.org/pg/bookmarks/fplpo/read/159940/high-performance-encoding-specifications) which starts off with "This page provides the documents..." and where one can add comments. The docs are not provided and this additional place for comments is confusing.

This page has a pad link that resolves to fixprotocol.org.  I'm trying to get to the FixMate list of Custom Fields.

http://www.fixtradingcommunity.org/pg/resources/fiximate

Expand the "Fields" table on the left and select the "Custom Fields"  The link points to : http://www.fixprotocol.org/specifications/fields/5000-9999 which then takes you back to the fixtradingcommunity.org page.

Thanks

favicon is missing when viewing http://www.fixtradingcommunity.org/FIXimate/FIXimate3.0/ directly.

My membership of working groups, sub-committees and committees have not been carried forward into the new site.. It is just my profile or a wider problem..

Also, where have the committee member list gone?

Your are logged-in and viewing the site/commenting as the Etrading Software Ltd corporate entity, not as yourself in an individual capacity. Your e-mail address is the registered e-mail for both, but you should have received different login credentials for each, and a differentiated introductory e-mail.

The Committee affiliations are personal, not linked to the company account. I have cross-checked you committee and entity group relationships, and they all reflect the exact same data and settings as were existent in the old site when the site is accessed using your personal account.

I have seperately e-mailed you your personal user-name, and I have manually re-set your password. I can see that it is associated with three Sub-Committees, five Working Groups, and is correctly recognised as an Admin Account for the company's Employee Group, Member listing, and Products and Services listings.

You also have a duplicated personal user account from a previous employment which appears to be redundant, but has never been cancelled or amended. I would suggest contacting the Programme Office to agree a bit of a data-clean up exercise and make sure redundant and duplicated accounts are dealt with. Once this is done, we could re-assign your username to something a bit more intuitive, but at the moment it is in prior use by the redundant account, and your e-mail is ambiguous as a login because it tis the e-mail fo record for more than one account.

Thanks for the e-mail Alex. Glad you are sorted and in touch re addressing the duplciate accounts.

Having trouble accessing the member resources area - says I am not authorized - however I am logged in. Please advise.

Thanks for sorting out the problem for the Etrading Software account.

  1. When removing a user from an employee group as group admin, the pop up after successful remove says "You are no longer following this group" which is confusing. This message in "real-time" only makes sense for the user that was removed.
  2. The list of users for an employee group is not shown in alphabetical order of user names and requires to sequentially search through the pages. I view this as a usability bug if a sort orders appears to be random to the user and hence provides no orientation.
  3. When switching from one page to the next in the list of users in an employee group, the resulting webpage goes back to the tab "Description", i.e. one has to click again on the tab "Members" to see the employee list again. With the lack of sorting and this indirection, one is never really sure if one is seeing the beginning of the list again instead of the "next" page requested before. The current page number is in a darker grey whereas the other numbers as well as "Previous" and "Next" are in a lighter grey. A different colour instead of a darker grey would be better for visibility (this last bit is not a bug but a feature request).

Every time I post a message to the General Q/A forum, it hangs. It eventually returns a network error. When I refresh the page, I found that the message was successfully posted, however. I am using Chrome browser.

Update: This post did not hang. Coincidence or something specific to the forum?

The port of the existing discussion groups seems to have filtered out anything that looks like XML.

For example, see this posting: http://www.fixtradingcommunity.org/pg/discussions/topicpost/167999/

The most valuable part of this posting includes the following XML:

<?xml version="1.0"?>

<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="
http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">

<xsl:template match="Field">

 <xsl:value-of select="Tag"/>,<xsl:value-of select="Name"/>,<xsl:value-of select="Type"/>,<xsl:value-of select="Description"/>

</xsl:template>

</xsl:stylesheet>

However, if you look at the post, this content just appears as ",,,"

John,

Yes it looks like its been stripped out in the migration- there is a process to prevent executables being inserted. We still have the original data, so it should be possible to put in some form of "code snippet" process that recognises it and dispalys it whislt preventing it being executable.

Will investigate and keep you posted.

John,

An update. We have a fix for this that should resolve it wholesale for the whole site. Just need to discuss with the Programme Office re release timing, as there is release package ready to go live in the next few days, so needs to be coordinated with that.

Hello, I have just been notified that I am now a member of the GTC via mail but still cannot get access to the GTC area…

Hi Alex…will look into this and come back to you.
