Front Office- Business Response Role
Special Qualification (e.g. Market coverage, Sector coverage, programming language, etc…)
The ideal candidate will have 2 years experience in front office (sell-side prop desk or tech savvy buy-side) supporting high volume Equity Trading Systems. They should have a solid understanding of any combination of Equity Trading business (Cash Equities, Equity Derivatives, Volatility Trading, Risk Arbitrage, Order Execution and/or Management) and have a genuine interest in working closely involved with the business.
Minimum of 1 year supporting and developing in C++ /Unix environment.
Minimum 1 year scripting experience in Kornshell or PERL
Experience with SQL and Sybase
Exposure to Excel/VBA is a plus
Exposure to Linux is a plus.
Experience with VC++ is a plus
Knowledge of Trader Tools/Bloomberg is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to excel working in a high paced environment are a must.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with multiple business and technology teams
A self starter who can work as part of a team, and be an individual contributor
Previous industry experience is a plus
The candidate should have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computational Finance or a similar discipline.
General Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will sit with on the desk with traders, quants, and/or analysts and work closely with the business to optimize C++, Perl, and SQL code for all Front Office IT Systems. They will work on the support and development of a number of applications, as well as play a critical role in the implementation, support, and enhancement of real time high volume Equities Trading Systems.
