I am with a small group of software engineers/investors who are writing our own automated investment software. We need a place to start, with the FIX protocol. Is there anyone who is offering free downloadable C or C++ fix source code?

There are a few websites which offer download for free. One such website is http://www.quickfixengine.org/. for more alternatives you can try to search in google for free fix engine source codes.
