Our Client, a major investment bank is looking for 4 Sr Programmers that meet the following requirements.

Main function of the job:
The requirement is for a senior analyst programmer within the eT team to:

  • Who is willing to take on a junior team lead role, working towards a team leader in 12 months time.
  • Join a team of analyst/programmers to work on C++ server and client side components
  • Analyze, develop and test the system

Responsibilities:

Analysis, Development, Testing
Would be expected to carry out all steps of the development lifecycle to deliver new versions of eT, namely:

  • Liaising with business representatives to determine requirements
  • Analyzing those requirements to find the most appropriate method for incorporating them into electronic trading.
  • Documenting the changes
  • Developing those requirements
  • Unit / system / regression / performance testing those requirements
  • Reviewing code produced by others
  • Working with the business representatives during the UAT stage
  • Supporting the implementation of each new code release.

Communication

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other development team members, other project members, other managers and users, gauging the level of technical knowledge of the audience in these communications.
  • Must be able to participate in technical discussions within the development team, communicating any issues that have a project-wide scope to the necessary level.
  • Must be able to participate in a culture of “knowledge sharing” within the development team.

Motivation

  • Must be self-motivated, setting a high level of professionalism and excellence.
    Quality
  • Should have a good appreciation of the software quality lifecycle, with emphasis on the importance of the testing stages.
  • Must also be able to maintain the project standards and ensure that they are adhered to, as well as proactively trying to add to these standards whenever possible.

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years development experience.

  • 5+ years C++

  • 5+ years working with real-time data messaging (e.g. TIBCO, Market Data)

  • 5+ years working with relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server)

  • 2 years RQF, Gateways and electronic trading exp

  • Experience of designing N-tier architecture applications, including knowledge of performance and maintenance issues, as well as an understanding of the distinction between tiers and the reasoning for this distinction.

  • Experience of a structured analysis & design methodology.

  • At least 2 years investment banking experience.
