Expertise in utilizing OO analysis techniques
via patterns in actual development efforts

  • Must be fluent in sequence, collaboration,
    and deployment diagrams in UML notation
  • Must be capable of explaining solutions via
    these diagrams
  • 5+ years of experience in C++
  • 5+ years expertise with interprocess
    communications using sockets, Tibco RV, or
    similar technologies
  • Expertise with development on a Unix and/or
    Linux environment, preferably Solaris 8 / Red
    Hat
  • Requires excellent verbal and written
    communications skills
  • Must be able to explain concepts and ideas
    clearly and concisely to both business and
    development personnel
  • Extensive development expertise in
    high-performance, multi-threaded
    programming (thread pools, mutex, critical
    segments, etc.)
  • Experience with some form of high
    performance RDBM systems such as Oracle
    and/or Sybase
  • Experience with some form of high
    performance persistence systems such as an
    RDBMS, flat files, or in-memory storage

Optional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Oracle 8i or 9I and 9i
    dataguard is best
  • Working knowledge of the FIX protocol and
    practical issues surrounding it’s use
  • Direct experience developing OESs for a
    Program Trading desk
  • Experience with development in a financial
    (preferably equities execution) setting, or
    development on a high throughput,
    transaction-oriented system
  • Experience with building systems that have
    high availability
  • 2+ years of Java Programming experience
  • Experience utilizing the Unified Process or
    other formal, iterative development process

    The Program Trading - Order Execution
    System rebuilds existing OES to be
    next-generation engine for US Equities
    Program Trading. The OES is an order state
    manager, it maintains the current status of all
    orders, the transition of states based on
    order/execution messages from market &
    client links, and the relationship between
    client orders and market side executions.

Responsibilities include:
Architect & develop OES replacement,
spending 90% of time performing direct
development related activities such as coding,
design, configuration management, and
reviewing work product.
