The FIX Trading Community would like to establish a Russia Subcommittee with the aim of developing a stronger understanding of the electronic trading needs and educational requirements in the region. Following a number of meetings with prospective members, there appears to be an opportunity to set up this Subcommittee and take advantage of increased interest in the region. Russian markets are going through a period of major structural reform and will continue to do so in the foreseeable future, potentially leading to an increase in volume from overseas investors.
