NEW YORK, NY, April 8, 2003 — Cameron Systems today announced the immediate availability of CameronFIX Version 6.1, the latest version of the industry leading CameronFIX engine. New functionality includes FIX-FIX routing, second generation high availability, connection scheduling, increased FIX dialects, drop in business logic, zero risk integration and double performance.

"CameronFIX 6.1 is a substantial release and a good example of our ever-increasing product development," said John Cameron, CTO, Cameron Systems. "It has significant client driven new features such as FIX-FIX routing, improved support for High Availability, and connection scheduling. CameronFIX 6.1 has been in beta testing for over four months at eight sites, and is already running in production at major sites."

"We moved from Javelin Coppellia and Appia to CameronFIX 6.1," said Mats Toren, Global Head of IT Project Management for Enskilda Securities [Stockholm, Sweden]. "Using its Zero Risk Integration and the IBM MQ series adapter we were able to integrate our existing applications into CameronFIX quickly and easily. We have also been using the connection scheduler and found this an easy way to simplify the process of managing our connections to counterparties."

Some of the new features for CameronFIX V6.1 include:

  • FIX-FIX routing. Traffic from one FIX session can be routed to another FIX session based on the standard FIX routing fields or based on complex routing logic taking into consideration message type or data in message fields.

  • Improved extensive high availability support over LAN and WAN. Together with FIX-FIX routing, this allows the CameronFIX Universal Server to function as a high performance, fault tolerant routing hub.

  • Connection Scheduling. Connections can be started, stopped and reset automatically based on a flexible timetable.

  • More FIX Dialects. CameronFIX invented the concept of FIX dialects to capture session level deviations from the FIX protocol. CameronFIX can communicate with all FIX engines even when that FIX engine is non-standard. CameronFIX V6.1 has an increased range of FIX dialects.

  • Business Logic. Business Logic/Rules including routing rules, message normalization, validation, and message manipulation can be easily dropped into the engine.

  • Zero Risk Integration. CameronFIX has a wide range of technology adapters including JMS, Tibco Rendevous, Talarian Smart Sockets, IBM MQ Series, MSMQ, Sonic MQ, RMI, COM, CORBA, .NET, and Sockets. This allows the CameronFIX Universal Server to FIX enable virtually any business with little integration effort.

  • Double the performance in terms of messages per second.

All Cameron Systems customers on the standard support and maintenance agreement will receive CameronFIX V6.1 at no charge over the next weeks.

The results of the inaugural European 2002 FIX Users’ Survey, recently released by the FIX Protocol Committee, awarded top rankings to CameronFIX by users in the categories of technical performance, functional coverage, quality of support staff and overall satisfaction.

Cameron Systems is a Global Member of the FIX Protocol Organization.

Cameron Systems announced in March 2003 a reseller and support partnership with Infocast in Hong Kong.
