Can a Full Fill Follow a Partial Fill

Imported from previous forum

Can someone please clarify the following scenario:

  1. New Order for 100 shares of KO is submitted
  2. Execution Report with Avg Price = 0, Cum Qty = 0, Leaves Qty = 100, Last Shares = 0, Last Price = 0 and Ord Status = New
  3. Execution Report with Avg Price = 40, Cum Qty = 100, Leaves Qty = 0, Last Shares = 50, Last Price = 39 and Ord Status = Filled
  4. Execution Report with Avg Price = 41, Cum Qty = 50, Leaves Qty = 50, Last Shares = 50, Last Price = 41 and Ord Status = Partially Filled

If the message sequence numbers are in sequence, would this be a valid scenario?

Thanks.

You may need to clarify your question. The subject asks ‘can a full fill follow a partial fill’ - to which the answer is ‘yes’ - for orders with more than one execution this is the normal scenario

‘Partially filled’ order statuses can follow ‘filled’ order statuses, for example if a previously reported execution is canceled.

In your example it looks like the ‘filled’ and ‘partially-filled’ execution reports are in the wrong sequence
