CAP FIX - SenderCompID(49)

Imported from previous forum

I have an enquiry on CAP FIX. Based on the following test, I noticed that the message sent by the trading engine after a successful logon, the senderCompID(49) has been changed to 1 instead of 0. Is this a normal behaviour? According to FIX protocol rules, does it allow a different SenderID within a FIX session? Shouldn’t it always maintain a same value with the same sender? Any supported documents for this? I tried to search thru the 4.4 FIX protocol, but it did not mention any FIX compliance rules for this. Thanks for your advice!

What do the rules of engagement from CAP say? It is not recommended to change SenderCompID and values of 0 and 1 are not the best ones to choose either. I would have expected it to be “CAP” all the time. CAP could use SenderSubID (50) to distinguish different subsystems responding to your request.

Hanno.

change in sendercompid is not recomended…(at least i have never
witnessed it with any buy/sell side API )
however messageheader values differ on exchange to exchange API.
in you case only your Sell side API can bring light…
