Certification system for external clients?

Imported from previous forum

I’m hoping to get some recommendations / advice on a system for certifying external clients.

Basically, we need a system that allows us to define a series of scripts or tests that our external clients need to complete in order to certify them before they trade on our network. This would be somewhere along the lines of 2-300 clients per quarter - some of these are new clients, some are existing clients that need to be re-tested when we make changes.

We’ve been working with a Java related vendor, but are more of a Microsoft shop and have not been all that happy with the solution the one vendor has provided. We’d be particularly interested in any .NET compatible solutions - SQL Server is a must for reporting.

If you can make a recommendation, please let me know.

Hi Derek,

My company, Lasalletech, offers a product FIX Conductor which automates Certification and the entire Onboarding process. We would be happy to setup a demo if you are interested. Although our products are developed using Java we have successfully integrated with a Microsoft platform/SQL Server environment at a client of ours.

Although I understand the need for anonymity, you might get better responses when using your actual name and work e-mail.

Looking forward to connecting,

Hi Derek,

CameronTec has a web-based certification service which allows your group to create rules/scripts and have your clients log in to a portal and run through tests at their own time. This is a fully transparent process to your group and allows you to reach out at any step if needed.

Our products are written in Java but we have many .NET clients that use our products through the various Technology Adapters we have.

You may visit our website (Financial Trading Technology for Capital Markets | Itiviti is now Broadridge) to get a better idea of our offerings and would suggest a live demo to see the product and also answer any questions you may have. Thank you and look forward in speaking to you soon.

FixSpec recently launched a certification utility designed to replicate broker / venue interfaces over a secure internet connection. The service responds in line with the specification rather than relying on pre-canned responses, and allows clients to measure their real-time progress against certification scenarios.

We don’t sell software, we offer a simple subscription service to build, configure and maintain the environment on your behalf. There is no hardware to buy, no software to install, and no configuration to do on your side; we simply take your spec and a connection to your UAT and run the whole thing for a fixed subscription (pricing available at fixspec.com/pricing).

No need to book a demo either - anybody who registers on the site (for free) with a valid corporate email address can try the service out themselves using an example specification we have loaded.

Hi Derek,

I’m writing an article on the process of FIX certification and interested in talking with you about the issues you’re facing. Would you be willing to discuss? You can be “off the record” if needed. (I’m not selling anything - just writing an article for a trade pub).
