In comparing Appendix 6-D to my shiny new copy of ISO 10962:2001 I have these comments:

  1. add "EMXXXX = Basket" to the high level list of possible values applicable to FIX

  2. in the table relating to "definition for futures", in the column for char 3
2.a. eliminate "T=commodities" (I do not see that in 10962:2001)
2.b. add A=Agriculture, forestry and fishing
2.c. change "S=Stock-Equities" to "S=Stock-Equities (for financial futures) or Services (for commodities futures)"
2.d. change "I=Indices" to "I=Indices (for financial futures) or Industrial Products (for commodities futures)

  3. In the table of examples for futures, three rows (FFICN, FCEPN, and FXXXN) are duplicated.

  4. I AM NOT AN EXPERT IN THIS
But the use of "F" as documented to indicate "standardized future" does not match with my reading of 10962:2001. It looks to me as though the coding for a standardized future, undifferentiated as to whether it is financial or commodities futures, would be "FXXXSX" - note that if there were to be a change to this it should also be made to the derivatives section in volume 7.

This has been addressed for FIX 4.3 Draft #3. Thank you. [PC20010816_2]

Note per our verbal discussion #1 was added as: "EMXXXX = Equity Miscellaneous or Other (e.g. Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), etc.) [n/a]" vs. the "Basket" term reference.

re: #4. I think you are correct that that example as well as the "Standardized *** Option" examples are missing the "S" character.

Thus they should be:
FXXXS Standardized Future
OCXXXS Standardized Call Option
OPXXXS Standardized Put Option
OCXFXS Standardized Call Option on a Future
OPXFXS Standardized Put Option on a Future

Amended in both Vol 6 & 7.
