Title: Director of Market Connectivity Products
Job Description:
Directly reporting to our CTO, this high profile position will be responsible for a team of 30+ Software and Quality Engineers with four direct reports. Our Market Connectivity Product teams ( FIX Server Products, Fix Client Products and Financial Gateways) develop products to connect to the major Financial Exchanges such as: CBOT, CME, Eurex, Eurex US, Euronext., LIFFE, Frankfurt Stock Exchange (Xetra), ICE® & IPE, and various FIX based destinations.
Primary Responsibilities
• General technical group administration including staffing, setting individual and group objectives, measuring and reviewing performance, career development, communication, technical mentoring, and training.
• Establish schedules, project plans, tracking of development progress and results
• Interface with product marketing to establish and maintain requirements
• Oversee design and development of software
• Work closely with other development groups to coordinate cross team development efforts
• Close cooperation with the QA department and Support to analyze and resolve production issues
• Plans and manages departmental expenses to an approved budget. Participates in the corporate budgeting cycle by preparing a proposed budget for personnel, equipment, services, and supplies.
• Consult with Senior Management, Systems Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and customers to analyze and understand functions to be implemented, client needs, objectives, desired features, and input and output requirements.
Job Qualifications:
• 10 + years experience total preferably from a software product development company
• 3 + years managing teams of 20+ Software Engineers.
• C/C++ skills, experience with multithreaded applications. Win32 experience, IP networking, IP multicast, sockets, TCP/IP, UDP, IPC.
• Experience with real-time, transactional software
• Strong Database skills preferred
• Financial/Trading Application Experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles/methodologies.
