Commodities & Derivatives Front Office Development/Application Support
Role
Summary of Role
• Develop/enhance trader risk management & pricing tools in C++, VB and Excel/VBA
• Become completely proficient with BNP Paribas’ Commodities analytics libraries, trading and risk systems, fielding local support queries
• Provide desk support for the Metals, Gas and Crude desks
• Be a highly motivated, self-starter type who can work equally well independently and as part of a larger team
• Ensure the traders’ risk is available in an accurate and timely manner each morning.
Technical Skills/Experience
• Excellent C/C++, VB, and Excel VBA development skills (minimum 5 years industry experience)
• Good SQL with exposure to industrial database (Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, etc)
• Good verbal/written communication skills
• C#/.NET is desirable
• Familiarity with Murex is desirable
Business Skills/Experience
• Experience with the Commodities trading business is preferred
• But a good working understanding of fixed income and equities business/general financial knowledge is an acceptable foundation on which to build
Academic Background
• Masters’ degree or better in a technical major preferred, although a Bachelors’ degree is acceptable with sufficient experience
