In case, if I want to look at changing the client id in the execution report and send it back to the exchange/sell side, is there a direct message available for this?

The buy side could just send a cancel/replace message without changing the other information (such as volume or price) and sending a new ClOrdID. If you send that to us, we will attempt a cancel/replace on the order and if successful you will have changed the ClOrdID.

The sell side is not really supposed to change ClOrdId - it belongs to the buy side who initiated the order. However, sometimes in counter party negotiations this may be acceptable. For instance, we can configure our sell side to send you a new ClOrdOd if the order is amended outside of your request (i.e. unsolicited). This is not commonly used but we simply issue an unsolicited execution report and give you a new ClOrdID.

The case mentioned would be applicable in case we are modifying the client id for an order. How should we handle a case when an order results into multiple executions and the client id for one of the executions has to be modified?
