Global investment is looking to fill the position of a lead developer. The main functions of the job are:

Front office application development and support for trading desk based in Tokyo. The job is directly working with the traders to understand their requirement and delivery the IT solution. In order to deliver, the person has to work very closely with global development team in London and New York to make sure the requirement is properly included in their development effort. Also where appropriate, the person is going to develop or customise those applications.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, implement and support front office trading systems for the Tokyo Front Office Businesses.
  • Interact with the traders and the other end users for requirements gathering, demonstrations and support issues in a helpful and professional manner.
  • Follow defined change control procedures to ensure an orderly roll-out of systems and to maintain the stability of existing systems.
  • Follow defined development methodologies when possible and to make efforts to re-use and share developments with other development groups both regionally and globally.
  • Use their knowledge of the systems to help determine the impact of changes when called upon by the manager to do so,

Education:

  • Engineering and/or science degree or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Financial Engineering masters degree preferred

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Strong understanding of credit derivative products for valuation, risk and pricing purposes
  • Strong experience with Excel/VBA
  • Fluency in English

Skills and Knowledge Preferred:

  • GUI development experience under Windows with C++, C#, VB, Oracle and MS SQL Server.
  • Development and application support for a Credit Derivatives desk
  • Working experience with global application team.
