I’ve posted an app note on the ECN/Exchanges Working Group page on the Semantic Differences between the CMS and FIX protocols with respect to
order handling.

This document discusses the major differences
between the two protocols regarding cancel and
cancel/replaces, ClOrdID v. BranchSeq#, etc.
