Aegis Software, a privately held company based in New York City, is a premier provider of technology to the Financial Services Industry. The revenue of its four year old product division has grown in excess of 100% per year and its suite of testing products is used by nine of the ten top brokerage firms. The company is about to introduce several new software products used for program trading and exchange access. Aegis is looking for an entrepreneurial marketing director to guide the product division’s growth.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for the creation and implementation of product strategies, product positioning, channel partnerships and tactical marketing programs and to act as spokesperson for the company to the industry and the press.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
** Coordinate market research on competition, positioning, and pricing and new product opportunities.
** Identify and develop promotional programs (trade shows, PR, advertising …), new products ideas and product pricing.
** Must actively seek opportunities for strategic relationships and channel partnerships.
** Provide leadership, support and expertise to senior management, marketing communications, sales, sales support, and software development.
** Participate in client contact and support the maintenance and enrichment of such relationships. Work with clients to develop joint press releases.
** Act as company spokesman to press and at tradeshows.
** Draft copy for marketing collateral including product briefs, case studies, press releases, presentations, RFP responses, quarterly newsletter and the company website.
** Develop annual product marketing plan inclusive of product strategies, tactical marketing programs, competitive assessment, new product opportunities, pricing, revenue forecast, and expense forecast.
** Forecast sales and participate in the review of sales forecasts.
** Manage marketing expenses within budget.
** Other job related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
** Well versed in the Financial Services Industry with solid knowledge of trading equities, options, futures, and foreign exchange securities.
** Very familiar with current industry algorithmic and program trading strategies (baskets, VWAP, pairs, market-on-close, etc),
** Knowledgable of computer software and network architectures, as well as financial services industry value-added-networks.
** Must be engaging, well spoken and personable. Very competent public speaker, able and eager to speak at seminars, round tables and trade shows.
** Able to conduct serious discussions on topics ranging from product features to industry trends and developments with client senior management and the press. Must be knowledgeable, authoritative and able to win respect of clients and the press.
** Excellent writing skills.
** At least five years Financial Industry Experience.
EDUCATION:
** Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or Technology.
** Desirable: any NASD REGISTRATIONS (e.g. SERIES 7, 24, 55 or 63).
** Advanced Degree is desirable.
