Enterprise Application Infrastructure - Messaging Architect

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The Messaging Architect will report to the Head of Enterprise Application Infrastructure (EAI) for ***s retail business. This position will manage the EAI Messaging team consisting of several employees architecting, designing and building messaging services.

Specific duties will include:

  • Develop the EAI Messaging team charter and membership.
  • Develop the EAI Messaging methodology including appropriate measures and metrics to ensure business impact.
  • Develop a messaging architecture that supports the retail business.
  • Ensure the communication of messaging services across the technology groups.
  • Ensure appropriate training and education for messaging across the IT team.
  • Develop technology alliances and partnerships with IT teams.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • The successful candidate will have a broad IT background, with deep knowledge of messaging technologies.
  • The successful candidate will have experience with system to system messaging and with diverse products and protocols including IBM MQ Series, Tibco, OFX, SWIFT, and FIX.
  • He or she will have experience deploying and managing these systems in both a distributed and mainframe environment.

Additional characteristics should include:

  • High degree of technical awareness.
  • Proven ability in the development of technical partnerships. Proven ability as a lead developer.
  • Sound understanding of infrastructure and security technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
The successful candidate will be a highly intelligent and self-confident and possess a high degree of technical acumen, especially in tools development.

Candidate needs to have experience in a large scale implementation and role outs!!!
They will be working on bringing mainframe to distibuted.

**** They will be replacing a proprietory system with and off the shelf system (MQ)… They MUST have experience doing this sucessfuly!!
