Electronic Trading and Connectivity Project Manager

A top financial company in Baltimore, MD is currently seeking a project manager to join their Information Technology department.

This person will be responsible for the following:

Initiating and maintaining relationships with lead technologists at all banks, exchanges and brokers with whom the firm does business.
Assessing the viability of new trading platforms from an integration perspective and work with Trading/Research to determine functional capabilities and requirements.
Working with Trading/Research to determine priorities and coordinate project timelines with the IT programming and networking staff.Staying abreast of all new developments in communication protocol standards (such as FIX, FIXML and FPML) being used or proposed in the financial industry.
Assessing hardware/telecomm/networking needs to support electronic trading initiatives and work with the IT networking staff to insure proper capacity/redundancy/security.
Leading a programming team responsible for the development, maintenance and integration of in-house connectivity software that supports all of the communication between the firm and ECNs/Brokers/Banks via various protocols.

The individual must be highly motivated and hard working with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate for this position would be someone who has worked as a project lead/manager in the IT area of a major bank or broker that is heavily involved with electronic trading or a networking/connectivity organization that provides broad FIX connectivity and is therefore familiar with the integration/communication/protocol issues and solutions. They should have at least 3 years of experience supporting FIX compliant electronic order processing solutions. Experience integrating Web based trading platforms is a plus.
