EMSX vs EMSxNet

Imported from previous forum

Can anybody explain me the difference between bloomberg EMSX and EMSxNet?

EMSX is Bloomberg’s EMS platform allows to execute/route parent orders (manually added, staged via FIX from an OMS, imported from .xls) with 1+ Brokers on the Bloomberg FIX order routing network (Equity/Futures/Options asset classes)

Up until EMSxNet only Bloomberg Trading platforms (EMSX, SSEOMS) could be used to reach the Order routing brokers on the network.

EMSxNet is Bloomberg’s FIX network/hub allowing a FIX order (FIX 4.2) to be sent in and automatically routed to the Broker (normalized) on the end point of the Bloomberg FIX network (subject to Commercials). Hub & Spoke FIX network topology.

The added value is that orders sent in and Broker responses are mirrored to EMSX front end allowing to to view the order status in read-only and use the Bloomberg analytics (Routing analytics, News, Graphs, etc) from EMSX.

There’s also an API to route to Brokers and there is a low latency peer-to-peer network only solution. Bloomberg can give you details about those options.

We already have a fix adapter to TSOX and EMSX and are facing a requirement also offering an EMSxNet adapter.
Does the EMSxNet require a different adapter or is it the same as EMSX?

It would be different connectivity (CompIDs, IP, Port) but essentially it’s very close to the EMSX adaptor, just with the addition of the deliverToCompID to define which broker to route to. You’d need to certify your adaptor with Bloomberg FIX team anyway to validate everything but expect minimal changes from the EMSX adaptor you’ve already put in place.
