Encryption WG Meeting Monday July 24

The FIX Encryption Working group will have an open kickoff meeting in New York on Monday, July 24 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. A light breakfast will be provided starting at 8:30 AM. A dialin number will be available.

Tentative agenda items include:

  • A brief high level overview of data security concepts and their use in financial protocols.

  • Where we’ve come from: an overview of PGP-DES-MD5 and its weaknesses.

  • Where we’re going: an overview of the work done in 1998 which set the framework for moving forward.

  • Outline of issues the working group needs to address.

  • Discussion.

  • Soliciting volunteers to move forward with pilot testing, vendor implementation research, reference implementation development, and writing application notes.

The meeting will be held at the Archipelago office on 65 Broadway, Suite 1300. Everyone attending must RSVP to Ryan Pierce, rpierce@taltrade.com with your name, company, E-mail address, and whether you wish to participate in person or via telephone.

Participation is open to all interested in FIX data security. If you wish to be listed on the FIX web page as a member of the Encryption Working Group, please reply to me or include it with your RSVP.
