An elite equity trading desk at a top NYC financial is currently looking for a technical application support developer. Candidates MUST have knowledge of equities trading, ideally front-to-back or STP systems.
As part of a development/ maintenance team, this individual will be responsible for support, maintenance, analysis of business requirements, detailed design and coding.
Sybase and SQL * 2-3 years.
Good understanding of Perl and Unix shell scripting
Good understanding of web based application development and Java.
UDB experience is desirable.
Understanding of OO practices and methodologies
2-3 years experience in Financial Services
Experience dealing with users/ clients
Experience in performing analysis for small projects or enhancements
BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent with top of the class performance
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A positive, upbeat attitude, with a dedication to quality
Fast learner, able to pick up new ideas and approaches quickly
