Im using fix4.4 .i would like to know if there a document which has a list of error messages and how to trouble shoot the same.

Not sure I understand the background of your question. The FIX concept does not foresee a single error message on the application level (other than Business Message Reject for very specific purposes). In general the response message is the same for success and failure with dedicated fields carrying error IDs (e.g. OrdStatus) as well as textual descriptions (e.g. OrdRejReason).
I am not aware of any single doc showing all of these fields across the entire set of FIX messages.
