Product Manager
skill sets:
- Business background as opposed to a technical background but with demonstrated capability to interface daily with technical staff.
- Knowledge of the trade lifecycle from order entry through clearing and settlement, including all parties involved, what their roles are and what information they need to perform their roles.
- Product management or project management experience in the design, development, testing, and rolling out of front, middle and back office electronic trading products to external client bases.
- Interface experience with Marketing Dept on product placement; Sales Dept on product features to sell and appropriate target audience; Development Dept on specifications; QA Dept on testing; Account Management Dept on how to train and upsell existing client base; Field Services Dept on how to install the product; Support Desk to answer production questions; and customers to take feedback and enhancement requests.
- Ability to answer product related questions from a client’s Trade Desk; Legal Dept; Compliance Dept; Middle Office Dept and IT Dept.
- Strong analytical skills to break down complex processes into constituent pieces.
- Strong writing abilities with demonstrated capability to draft product specifications that developers can code to; implementation guides that can be used to train Field Services on product installation; release notes that account managers us to train clients and user manuals provided to clients.
- Strong verbal communication skills to elicit customer feedback and answer questions on written documents.
Educational Level Required: BA/BS required. MBA preferred
