can anyone tell me whats the exact difference betwwn Tag 48( security iD) and Tag 22 Id source and how do these tags help…also their definitions…

Both these tags are used in conjunction to identify the specific Instrument or Security. Tag 48 contains the exact ID of the Security and tag 22 [IDSource] identifies the type of Security ID specified. So for e.g., if you specify the value of 4 for Tag 22 [22=4], the value in Tag 48 should be the ISIN code for the Instrument/Security. Values 1-9 are pre-defined for Tag 22 in FIX standard and you can use the values 100+ to define your own local codes in consultation with your counterparty.
