Extension Pack EP271 - Breaking Changes or not?

Hi Team,

The FIX extension packs released in August EP270-272 contains EP271 which covers Errors and Omissions 2021.

As per the description it says “to correct errors and omissions discovered in the FIX Standard, e.g. misspellings or gaffes in the description.”.

We are in the process of upgrading the FIXML to the latest extension pack. Though we will be doing working versions at our end before making it final and doing the checks, I wanted to check with you whether there are any breaking changes like the Abbr Name change in the schema itself? Or is it just affecting the Field Names and/or descriptions.

@rahulmohanraj, please check section 2.5 Issues affecting FIXML files the ASBUILT document for EP271 for details. Changes are:

  • BaseHeader corrected to Hdr
  • Missing abbrName attributes added for a few fields
  • Category attribute corrected for MsgTypeGrp
  • NotReqXML corrected for MsgTypeGrp and a few fields
