Hi

Has anyone out there used the FAST protocol for high thruput order routing for single equity orders? i.e. say 2,000 mps

Has anyone used FAST with either Cameron or Tib/RV ?

It would seem there might be smaller benefit for order routing than quotes with some higher price for CPU cycles.

At the throughput rates you mention you should not need FAST though I can’t speak to the performance of Cameron or Tib/RV. Your point about the performance gains of FAST for market data vs order routing is well taken, however we have seen compression gains of 70% and very good performance for FAST partly due to fewer socket reads per message.

I would agree with Dave, for the type of throughput you mentioned you would not need to deploy FAST. Having said that, we do have 2 US exchanges deploying FAST so there may be more benefit in the near future.
