FIX 4.0 specifies that unless stated otherwise, tags can appear in any order. In 4.2, this has been clarified and says that header fields should be followed by body fields which should be followed by trailer fields.
We are testing with someone who puts 98(EncryptMethod) in the middle of the header fields in the Login message, and so our engine had trouble parsing the message.
I guess we are in the weakest position in this argument since our client is technically correct. Any comments?
