The first draft of FIX 4.3 has been released and is available for download from "Specifications". Second draft is scheduled for July 10, 2001. Final release on August 24, 2001.
Major changes in FIX 4.3 include:
- Restructued the specification into 7 volumes (see VOLUME INDEX in Volume 1)
- Dual syntax of traditional tag=value and XML-based FIXML (FIXML versions not in this draft)
- Fixed Income product support
- Collective Investment Vehicles (CIV) product (Mutual Funds, Unit Trusts, etc) support
- Enhanced Derivatives product support
- Support for swaps and multi-leg instrument orders
- "Streetside" trade capture reporting
Enhancements to security and trading session definition and requests - Additional support for Asia/Pacific and Japanese requirements
The ZIP file includes 7 volumes (re-structured specification) and Release Notes and can be downloaded from:
