FIX 4.3 Released

The FIX 4.3 specification including FIXML DTD has been officially released and is available for download from "Specifications".

The FIX 4.3 specification includes numerous enhancements beyond FIX 4.2. Major changes in FIX 4.3 include:

  1. Reorganization of the specification into 7 volumes (see VOLUME INDEX in Volume 1)
  2. Documentation represents dual syntax consisting of traditional "tag-equals-value" and XML-based FIXML
  3. Fixed Income product support
  4. Collective Investment Vehicles (CIV) product (Mutual Funds, Unit Trusts, etc) support
  5. Enhanced support for Derivatives products
  6. Expanded support for Cross orders
  7. Support for swaps and multi-leg instrument orders
  8. "Streetside" trade capture reporting (e.g. sellside to DTC in U.S.)
  9. Enhancements to security and trading session definition and requests
  10. Additional support for Asia/Pacific and Japanese requirements

The ZIP files includes 7 volumes (re-structured specification), FIXML 4.3 DTD, and Release Notes in either Microsoft Word or PDF format and can be downloaded from:

Also available is an online "liveDTD" reference generated from the FIXML DTD.
