Hi All,

I am a c++ programmer working with FIX protocol since from last one year even though I am not an expert in FIX specification or in Fixed Income market I can able to get help from various other people and get to work.

Now I am seriously thinking to take up FIX related programming as my career so I would be glad if i get to know answers for the below questions,

  1. What is right approach to become a wellversed in Fixed Income Market? How do i start?
  2. Is there any institutions provides FIX related certifications to individuals like me, which can help me in getting a job

Thanks
WR

William,

Two books will give you a good start in learning about the fixed income markets:

  1. The Money Market by Marcia Stigum
  2. The Handbook of Fixed Income Securities edited by Frank Fabozzi

Best,
John

John - if the whole world were underwater, those Fabozzi’s would still be bone dry…

William, an old but much slimmer book that you might consider:

Inside the Yield Book

I’ll grant you that, Mr. Sawyer  Inside the Yield Book is a better suggestion.
