The main duties of the role are to:
·Perform analysis of business/functional requirements for business as usual activities, agree these with the business sponsors and deliver them to members of the appropriate development team where applicable
·Testing of new FIX client connections and FIX certification testing for FIX vendor connections.
·Where appropriate, create project plans and manage implementations effectively and on time
·Manage resources assigned to small projects to ensure progress is on track and issues/risk properly captured
·Produce appropriate documentation according to Bank standards
·Employ the Bank’s Project Management Approach (PMA) standards throughout
·Liaise with business and project teams to ensure resolution of issues and concerns
·Liaise with business representatives to publish progress of systems enhancements/additions
·Liaise with other areas of the Bank duly impacted by IB IT systems implementations
·Report progress to line management on a regular basis
·Contribute to second line support in event of major outages and help define the associated risks
·Work closely with team leaders of other groups to ensure successful implementations
·Act as a point of contact to the business
·Gathering and logging all requirements and passing to management for prioritisation
Essentail skills:
·Exceptional understanding of the Equities business (front to back) – including sales, trading (including position keeping and P&L), compliance, settlements and finance
·Good understanding of technology and its application to the Equities environment including trading systems, risk management systems, settlement systems and the integration of these applications
·The candidate must be self motivated and pro-active. They must be able to manage their own workload to comply with timescales and scope as agreed
·Knowledge of a recognised structured methodology
·Good team player, and ability to build good relationships with their clients (the business)
·Ability to work in a highly pressured environment
IT/Applications:-
Fidessa (particularly OMAR, EMMA, FDA, FTW, TMAR, PMAC) from the perspective of a business analyst, FIX Connectivity
Business:-
Detailed understanding of Global Order Routing and the Sales and Trading businesses in particular Cash Equities
Knowledge of the following business areas is also an advantage:-
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
