I am a developer based south of London (UK) becoming available for new work within one month (my current client has just terminated dozens of personnel as a cost-cutting measure). I have extensive experience of FIX 4.2, including having developed for a previous client a FIX 4.2 validation tool that I believe is still more comprehensive than anything on the market. My main development language is C++, normally working on Windows NT but also some Solaris. Associated technical skills include TCP/IP, SQL (Sybase and SQL Server), high performance databases, as well as some web-skills (particularly HTML). Recently I have been working with both VC++ and Java, using JNI and RMI for integrating languages and platforms. I have been working in the City for many years and so have exposure to financials. Key business knowledge relates to personal finance (I am studying to take the Financial Planning Certificates 1-3).
Perfect position would involve flexibility over working hours and/or location. Working south of London would be ideal, otherwise location preferred to be London/City.
