Did there is somewhere a free (à la GNU) implementation of FIX (C/C++/Java) ?

By the way, where could we find examples
code to implement fix protocol ?

Cameron Systems do a FIX engine (called CameronFix) which has reasonably priced source code, free run time licences and an updating service.

Whilst it’s not actually free - you may feel it worth the cost to be kept up to date with FIX releases.
