A couple of general questions about the network performance requirements for the FIX protocol.
-
Are there situations, or specific applications for FIX, where the network performance is time critical? Or put another way, where the ability to eliminate any network latencies and achieve very low response times is beneficial?
-
In addition, are there situations where the network distance is great (e.g. regional or cross-country, or trans-ocean) and the performance is time critical (e.g. miliseconds instead of seconds)?
Appreciate any and all responses.
