Company Overview
My client are leading experts in providing messaging and trading connectivity solutions to the global finance industry. They research, develop and deploy financial applications which facilitate STP and the more efficient trading of financial products electronically.
Purpose
To manage the strategic direction and product management of all current and new products from inception through to launch. Assist in defining the company direction with regard to products, markets and product strategies.
Responsibilities
My Client require a product manager with heavy exposure in the Investment Banking / Trading Systems field to:-Provide overall management of teir products, particularly regarding producing Product roadmaps, Requirements Specifications and Use-cases, plus Product Release planning Define new feature sets for existing products.
Understand the business requirements and how to best leverage the technology to meet delivery goals Coordinate and ensure collaboration between the companies front office and back office departments Manage business analysts and lead architects, who support the requirement analysis, definition, and management activities Perform Market Research and competitive products’ analysis Conduct Return-On-Investment analysis for products and major features, plus provide input to Product Pricing strategies Product Release planning and monitoring against milestones.
Work closely with R&D in support of product implementation planning, design and development Ensure quality of project deliverables [software and documentation]Report on Product Development status to senior management Provide input into the customer care ethos The position also involves demonstrating our products, answering questions, developing peer relationships with top-level prospect and customer personnel, performing sales-oriented business analysis, and participating in the RFP process. Qualifications / Technical Requirements
Previous Equity markets product management experience Knowledge of Financial operations generally, particularly Trade lifecycle, Financial Order Flow / Routing, Investment and Portfolio Management Solid technical background Trading systems product marketing Financial solutions professional services Financial services software / packages Strong strategic, business and program planning skills Analytical skills to understand business objectives and communicate requirements, combined with good Documentation skills Knowledge of use-case driven development methodologies Understanding of collaborative business paradigms especially in terms of B2B and B2C connectivity Have good level of understanding regarding data architectures Knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis & Design Knowledge of one or more of the following:
UML, FIX Protocol, XML Messaging in Financial Industry, STP (T+1), Data Mapping with Messaging Standards, Experience with Messaging and Application Hosting Middleware platforms
Preferably educated to degree level Knowledge of programming languages such as C++, Java, operating systems such as Unix, NT; hardware platforms like Intel servers, Sun machinesKnowledge of networking hardware, like routers and software, like TCP/IP
2+ years experience in a product manager role.Experience of liaising with financial business users.Worked in a demanding and fast paced environment. Competence with computers.Proven ability to prioritise work; planning and reporting.Good presentation skills, both oral and written, with the ability to talk on a peer-to-peer level with senior equity and fixed income portfolio managers and traders Fast learner, able to quickly understand our software technology and application.
