The primary task for this individual will be to provide day-to-day support of XXXX’s core corporate applications running on 160+ production servers in a 24 x 7 environment. This generalist will use monitoring and scripting tools to fault-find and troubleshoot any problems affecting the applications served to SAC’s community of 450+ users. Enterprise applications used by both front and back office departments include; Panorama, Murex, SalesLogix and Ultipro. A production support specialist will have an in-depth and detailed understanding of how enterprise level applications are maintained and scaled within a heterogeneous and complexly integrated systems environment. In working to optimize operations of the department, s/he will engineer processes into the production environment to reduce manual support requirements through scripting and documentation. In order to meet the challenging demands of this role, this candidate will have a good customer focused attitude, be self-motivated and able to juggle several production problems as well as project work at the same time.

Effective and timely problem resolution and monitoring of the production environment. -
Real time monitoring of the trading systems (order execution, position keeping and FIX), ensure they are running each morning - document test/verification procedures. -
Build/spec tools to monitor failure points and/or use existing enterprise management tools such as SolarWinds or NetIQ to script system monitoring and generate automated alerts. -
Automate routine administrative tasks using Scripts (SQL/VBScript/Batch) -
Support existing and new systems, through monitoring, upgrades and documentation. -
Liaise with business and other IT units to ensure a smooth transition of changes to the production environment.
Personal Requirements:

3+ yrs experience supporting a Microsoft based financial environment. -
24x7 production support experience. -
Proven experience supporting SQL server. -
Good general experience w/ many different issues, systems, networks, support, etc. and ability to discuss technical experience with each. -
Time management and critical thinking ability. -
Demonstrated skill in applying an organized thought process to problem solving. -
Excellent attention to detail and ability to remember, record, and relay both routine and mission critical information on a consistent basis. -
Ability to interact with users across all business units. -
Experience in writing business documents, such as functional specs and result summaries. -
Education: 4 yr. accredited college degree is required.
