SUMMARY OF OVERALL POSITION
Experienced software development manager. The Manager position leads a FIX team writing middle-tier API converters from FIX to FIX and from FIX to other API’s.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee the requirements, design and process management of FIX/API software development
· Formulates and reviews schedules of project plans, tracking of development progress and results.
· Working closely with other development groups to coordinate cross team development efforts.
· Close cooperation with the QA department and Support to analyze and resolve production issues in an efficient and timely manner.
· Plans and manages departmental expenses to an approved budget. Participates in the corporate budgeting cycle by preparing a proposed budget for personnel, equipment, services, and supplies.
· Consult with Senior Management, Systems Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and customers to analyze and understand functions to be implemented, client needs, objectives, desired features, and input and output requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in CIS or related field.

SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS
· Good communication and writing skills.
· C/C++ skills (Windows Platform), experience with multithreaded applications.
· Knowledge and understanding of software development lifecycles/methodologies
· Win32 experience, IP networking, sockets, IPC.
· Experience with transactional systems, databases.
· Experience in the financial/trading industry is beneficial.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
· 7+ years experience in software development (at least 2 years as development manager).
· General technical group administration including staffing, setting individual and group objectives, measuring and reviewing performance, career development, communication, technical mentoring, training, and leadership to help facilitate each product’s development.
